The Pastor's
Perspective
Greetings in the Name of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! As we come to celebrate
Black History month here at Second Baptist, we realize
that God has heard the anguished cries of our ancestors
and their sounds echo and penetrate time, to remind
us of our fore-parents who were brutally captured and
forcibly enslaved.
God has seen the tears
and the pain that we’ve been through just like
he saw in His son Jesus. The song writer says in Lift
Every Voice and Sing, “God of our weary
years, God of our silent tears". We have now been
set free. Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty
we are free at last!
God has never left us and
He is the reason for our praise. We invite you to come
and be a part of this great church as we celebrate Black
History month and remember that we’ve come this
far by faith, leaning on the Lord- trusting in His Holy
Word. The Lord has never failed us and He never will.
Blessed are those men and women
of strength who set the path for us to follow. Blessed
are those who tore off the shackles of powerlessness
and looked to a better day. Lord we give you thanks
for leading and guiding us all. |

A Message from
our First Lady
Since this month is Black History, I
would like to send out our heartfelt prayers and blessings
to all of the people in Haiti. Lets continue to help
our people in this time of need, for it says in Phillipian
4:13 "We can do all things thru Christ which strenghtens
us."
I would also like to acknowledge our
ancestors, Sojourner Truth, Martin Luther King Jr, Harriet
Tubman, Fredrick Douglas, Rosa Parks and many others
who fought for us to be where we are today.
We have a lot to be thankful for. Be
a good neighbor. Be respectful to all. Lend a helping
hand. Volunteer and speak up when others are treated
unjustly. Compassion puts love into action.
First Lady, Patricia Williams
